The finalised card design for Chariot. The neon lights for the character had to be changed to green so that they stood out against the background, which contained blue neon road signs. The background was Tron: Legacy inspired.
The official pose for the Chariot. I looked at surf boarders for this pose because I felt it incorporated character details and the hover board equally.
2 poses for Chariot. I wanted to incorporate the Hover board into the pose, so I looked at not only skateboarders, but also surf boarders specifically to get an idea on the stance adopted for staying on balance.
The design was, without any subtlety, influenced by Back to the Future 2. I tried out different light layouts to see what I could come up with, but decided that one colour overall worked better.
2 Chariot designs, each with a different colour for hooded top and neon details. The neon details extended to the shoes as well, and in the end, I chose to go with the black with blue details.
I decided on the Assassin Hoodie, and looked several colour schemes online to see what colours there were for it. I also tried out a Tron style neon effect and applied that to the hoodie with different colours to see which ones worked best.
VII - The Chariot
This was the third of 5 characters I had to design for my Honours project at University.
I opted towards the sci-fi theme for this one for several reasons. I'd never done sci-fi before and the Chariot screamed out "vehicle" to me.
I did watch Back to the Future 2 when I came up with the Hoverboard idea.
